Extruder Cleaning Methods
To ensure the efficient operation of the extruder, cleaning is crucial. First, thoroughly remove any residual material before cleaning. Use a vacuum cleaner for flowable materials, and a scraper or similar tool for viscous or easily residue-prone materials.
Always perform this cleaning only after the equipment has been shut down and cooled. Next, thoroughly clean the inside of the extruder: Remove screws and clean any buildup at the feed inlet and feeding device, using a professional cleaning agent if necessary; disassemble the thermal expansion and contraction pipes, a critical component, and clean them with detergent and water, using a professional solvent for heavily contaminated areas; wipe the surface of the slider and guide rods with a cloth or paper towel before thoroughly cleaning them with a professional cleaning agent.
After cleaning, carefully inspect the results and reassemble the equipment. Perform a drying process to ensure the equipment is dry and free of oil, thus maintaining normal operation, improving production efficiency, and extending the equipment's lifespan.
