Extruder Maintenance And Upkeep

Routine Maintenance

Cleaning: Daily cleaning of equipment surfaces to remove oil stains and dust, ensuring that heat dissipation channels remain unobstructed; weekly cleaning of dust inside the electrical cabinet to prevent short circuits.

Lubrication: Weekly replenishment of lubricant (e.g., No. 3 lithium-based grease) for components such as bearings and gears to ensure the smooth operation of moving parts.
Fastening: Monthly inspection of connection bolts for components such as the screw, barrel, and heating bands; tighten any loose bolts immediately to prevent leaks.

 

Periodic Inspection and Overhaul
Screw Inspection: Inspect the screw for wear every 3 months (replacement is required if the diameter reduction exceeds 0.5 mm) to prevent reduced output or unstable product quality caused by excessive clearance.
Barrel Inspection: Inspect the inner wall of the barrel for wear every 6 months (repair or replacement is required if the inner diameter expansion exceeds 1 mm) to prevent safety hazards caused by melt leakage.
Hydraulic System Inspection: Annually replace hydraulic oil (e.g., No. 46 anti-wear hydraulic oil) and clean the oil tank and filter elements to prevent system malfunctions caused by oil contamination.

 

Spare Parts Management
Maintain a stock of common wear parts (e.g., heating bands, sealing rings, screw heads, etc.) to ensure rapid replacement in the event of sudden breakdowns, thereby minimizing downtime.
Periodically check spare parts inventory and promptly replenish missing or aging components to prevent production interruptions caused by a shortage of spare parts.
